The University of Essex is offering a Masters (PGT) EU Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year. This scholarship supports EU nationals who are classed as international fee-paying students and enrolling in an eligible postgraduate taught (PGT) programme.
Scholarship Value

£5,000 for full-time students (applied in Year 1)

£2,500 per year for part-time students (applied in Years 1 and 2)
This scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount for the first year (or first two years for part-time) only.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

Be ordinarily resident in an EU country

Be self-funded and classed as an international (overseas) fee payer

Apply for a full-time or part-time taught postgraduate degree (MA, MSc, LLM, MFA, MPP, MBM)

Register for entry in October 2026 or January 2027
This award may be combined with the Early Bird Discount, but not with any other Essex scholarships. Students receiving a repayable loan are still considered self-funded.

Ineligible Applicants
You are not eligible if:

You are studying an online course delivered in partnership with Kaplan Open Learning

You are not ordinarily resident in an EU country

You are fully or partially sponsored (excluding repayable loans or visa sponsorship)
-
You are taking the Essex MBA (separate scholarship available)

You defer your offer to a later year
-
You are enrolled through a dual degree, link institution, or pathway programme (e.g., UEIC)

You are already enrolled at Essex before 2026–27
-
You are assessed as paying home tuition fees
How to Apply
There is no separate scholarship application. Eligible applicants will be automatically considered during the admissions process based on the information submitted on their programme application.
