Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence 2026, applicants must:

Hold a First Class or Upper Second Class degree (or an international equivalent).

Possess either a conditional or unconditional offer to study one of the eligible courses at The City Law School.

Be enrolled as a Home or International student, studying full-time or part-time.
Note:
Students who receive module exemptions on the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) are not eligible for this scholarship. If you switch to the exemption version of the programme, your scholarship offer will no longer be valid.
For Graduate Entry LLB (GE LLB) applicants, the scholarship application is available only via the UCAS portal once you have received an offer.

Application Process
Interested applicants should visit the City University London Scholarship Portal to complete their application.
Students holding offers for BVS or SPP programmes can apply for scholarships starting in November, and specific deadlines will be shared via their offer email.
Applicants for GE LLB, GDL, or LLM programmes will not be contacted directly but are welcome to apply once they have received an offer and before the relevant deadline.
Please note that candidates only need to submit one application — this will automatically be considered for both the City Law School Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the City Law School Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
If a student is awarded the City Law School Scholarship for Academic Excellence earlier in the year, they may be upgraded to the Dean’s Scholarship in June. However, recipients of the Dean’s Scholarship will not be eligible for any other City Law School awards.
