The University College Birmingham (UCB) is offering the Sustainable Development Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year to support international postgraduate students who are passionate about sustainability and creating a positive global impact. Successful applicants will receive a 25% tuition fee reduction for their first year of study.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Sustainable Development Scholarship at University College Birmingham, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold and accept an offer to study a full-time postgraduate programme at University College Birmingham.

    • Note: Part-time, distance learning, or other levels of study are not eligible.

  • Be classified as an overseas fee-paying student (Home fee payers are not eligible).

  • Achieve a minimum academic requirement of a 2:1 Honours degree or an international equivalent.

  • The scholarship applies to the first year of study only.

  • Pay at least £1,000 towards your deposit within 14 days of receiving the scholarship offer; otherwise, the offer will be withdrawn.

  • Agree to participate in marketing activities, such as providing testimonials or appearing in case studies, if requested by the University.

Application Process

To apply for the scholarship:

  1. Obtain an offer of admission for a postgraduate programme beginning in February 2026, September 2026, or February 2027.

  2. Submit your scholarship application through the corresponding link for your intake period.

  3. Include a personal statement outlining:

    • Your motivation for pursuing sustainability.

    • The expected outcomes of your postgraduate studies.

    • Any previous experience or activities related to sustainable development.

  4. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of academic experts in sustainability, and successful applicants will be notified via email.
