Statkraft STEM Scholarships at UHI 2026

Backed by Statkraft, Europe’s leading renewable energy generator, this scholarship reflects a strong commitment to building future talent in STEM fields and supporting students from Scotland’s rural and island communities.

Scholarship Overview

• Award Value: £3,000 per year

• Duration: Up to 4 years (depending on course length)

• Total Support: £6,000 for a 2-year course or £12,000 for a 4-year course

• Available Slots: 2 new recipients for the 2026 academic year

• Deadline: 30 March 2026

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be enrolled in a full-time STEM course (Further or Higher Education) at UHI

• Be ordinarily resident in Scotland

• Be undertaking a multi-year programme (2–4 years in length)

• Show ongoing academic achievement and provide a yearly progress report

• Submit an application including:

  • A statement of support (split into 3 sections):

    • Academic success and potential

    • Career ambitions in STEM

    • Financial need

  • A personal reference

  • A record of previous academic achievements

Applications will be assessed by a panel based on academic performance, potential, and motivation to succeed in a STEM career.
