125th Anniversary Scholarships for International Students at the University of Birmingham (January 2026)

In celebration of 125 years since receiving its Royal Charter, the University of Birmingham is offering an exciting funding opportunity for international students pursuing a Master’s degree at its UK campus. The 125th Anniversary Scholarship provides a £5,000 award to support talented students beginning their studies in January 2026.

Scholarship Overview

To mark over a century of academic excellence and innovation, the University of Birmingham is awarding this scholarship to international students who demonstrate academic merit and ambition. The £5,000 award will be applied directly toward tuition fees, helping students ease the financial commitment of pursuing postgraduate studies at one of the UK’s leading universities.

Scholarship Benefits

• A £5,000 tuition fee reduction for eligible international students starting a taught Master’s degree in September 2025 or January 2026.

• Automatic consideration — no separate application required.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 125th Anniversary Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Hold an offer to study a taught Master’s programme at the University of Birmingham’s UK campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026.

• Be domiciled in one of the eligible countries listed by the University.

• Be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition purposes.

• Be enrolled in a full-time, on-campus programme (distance learning programmes are not eligible).

The scholarship is available across all Birmingham Business School postgraduate taught programmes, including:

• MBA

• MSc Management

• MSc Marketing

• MSc International Business

These programmes, previously excluded from the scheme, were officially added as of 7 April 2025. Eligible students who received offers prior to this date will also benefit from the scholarship retrospectively.

Please Note:

• The University may withdraw or amend the scholarship offer at any time, so early application is encouraged.

• Students already receiving a full tuition scholarship from another organisation are not eligible.

• Postgraduate programmes such as PhD, MPhil, MMus, MLit, PGDip, PGCert, and PGCE (QTS) are not included.

• Undergraduate and Dubai campus students are also ineligible.

Application Process

There is no separate application for the 125th Anniversary Scholarship. Once you receive an offer and meet the eligibility requirements, the £5,000 award will be automatically deducted from your tuition fees.

To secure the scholarship:

1. Accept your offer of admission.

2. Pay your admission deposit by the deadline stated in your offer letter.

That’s all you need to do — your scholarship will be applied automatically.

Important Note

The scholarship applies only to students starting their studies in September 2025 or January 2026. Programmes delivered via distance learning or at the University of Birmingham Dubai campus are not eligible.
